Characters
Atomsplit is a webcomic based on an indie rock n' roll band comprised of an interesting cast of characters. The ongoing weekly webcomic chronicles their trials and tribulations of being an unsigned DIY band. The upcoming 12 Episode "Comitoon" series will see the band being discovered by classic old school rocker Bobby Vandertramp.
Bobby Vandertramp
Bobby Vandertramp was the frontman for mid-seventies mega-band Vandertramp. Early in his career he signed a huge contract with the largest record label on the planet Big World Records, but Bobby didn’t like the way they conducted business so he broke his contract. After that he wandered the world looking for a band that would be even better than Vandertramp and found that band in Atomsplit. No one knows for sure whether or not Bobby can drive fifty five, but he’s bound and determined to take Atomsplit to the top as long as he can keep one step ahead of Big World Music and its goons.
DSazster
D. Sazster is Atomsplits lead singer and lead guitarist. When he’s not writing Atomsplit songs, hanging out with his girlfriend Shelly, or walking his dogs, he’s usually in the garden trying to break on through to the other side on his own spiritual journey . .
Gracie
LGracie is the most practical member of Atomsplit and also the bassist. In her spare time she’s a real technophile and tinkerer and if the levee breaks or anything else for that matter she can either fix it or build a new one.
Colby
Colby was born to be wild. If he’s not playing rhythm guitars in Atomsplit where he should be then he’s either racing lawnmowers, at the monster truck show, or down at the shack wrestling in the squared circle for twenty bucks and all the free beer he can drink, and if you’re there too then you’d better watch out.
J.T.
J.T. is Atomsplits drummer and can keep the steadiest of beats which is odd because for the most part he’s a real dreamer. When he’s not hitting the skins for Atomsplit he’s dreaming on about his ant farms, his various collections of assorted things, or any number of other what ifs and maybe coulds. If Atomsplit ever finds itself in a surreal situation J.T. can usually be found at the bottom…or top of it depending on which way you look.
Derwin Peevil
Derwin Peevil and Bobby Vandertramp were once the best of friends. However, through a series of various unfortunate twists and turns they became the bitterest of enemies. The mysterious Board Of Directors at Big World Records has tasked Peevil with making Bobby pay for breaking his contract and like smoke on the water he keeps coming back to thwart Bobby’s plans of making Atomsplit the greatest band in the world.
Katie
Katie is a D.J. at a college radio station. She likes to rock ‘n’ roll all night and party every day. She is instrumental in getting Atomsplit’s grass roots movement off the ground with her radio show.
Stan and Jerry
Jerry and Stan were once proud members of Vandertramp, but now they’ve been reduced too sniveling goons of Peevil’s after siding with Big World Records when Bobby broke his contract. When Peevil needs some dirty deeds done dirt cheap he always calls on Stan and Jerry who may or may not be able to get the job done.
The Board
The mysterious Board Of Directors at Big World Records is are a group of villains. Each one is more sinister than the next. Bobby thought he was a fortunate son when he signed a contract with them, but soon realized he wasn’t the fortunate one and broke it. Now the Board Of Directors will stop at nothing to make Bobby suffer for all the money they lost on him.
