This is an still for one of the later episodes of the Atomsplit animation. It takes place in Times Square New York. I was looking at pictures of Times Square and it was full of zillions of billboard ads and things like that. It would have taken a million years to draw out all the ads and intricate details so I decided to draw out the most prominent shapes and use a limited and cool color palette. When you see this background it doesn’t seem to have as huge a scope as a real long shot of Times Square, but once you add the other pieces that you’ll see in the animation it becomes longer and seems to loom over the characters.
